I played sports from the age of 9 until I was 35. I started out in track and field, competing for Scotland as a decathlete, before progressing to American Football where I won a British University Championship in 2003. I also was Strength and Conditioning Coach, Defensive Coach and Head Coach for the team over several years.
I know what it’s like to be completely invested in your chosen sport, and I also know what it’s like to fall away from sport, and exercise. To have life get in the way, and take over, until you feel like you’ve lost something of yourself and wonder if it’s possible to ever get it back.
For the past 20 years I’ve worked as a strength and conditioning coach and I’ve seen many people in a similar position. I created North Mountain Highlanders as the solution: a place to learn the best training methods, and also to find that team camaraderie again.
